SAVE THE YAMUNA FROM DISASTROUS FOAM!

TOXIC FOAM IS CLOUDING YAMUNA


Did you know that foam is seen on the river Yamuna in Delhi? It's even pink or purple at times. Do you think it would look pretty or interesting with the foam? No. The foam just shows that the 22 km stretch of Yamuna flowing through Delhi is without any aquatic life. This foam is formed through industrial pollution, air pollution and household wastewater.



In a survey done by me on Google Forms everyone living in Delhi knew about the foam. This shows that foam has been in the river for very long time. Everyday when I go to school I cross a bridge over the Yamuna river. One side of it is clean but the other side is  filled with foam. I always thought this foam was  made by people who washed their clothes in the river. Now I know it is because of the pollution.                       



Facts: Did you know? .....
1.Pink and Purple foam come from the dye released from the cloth industry.
2. Sewage water is being dumped in the Yamuna by 20 drains in Delhi.
3.The poor people who live near the river Yamuna in Delhi can't drink water because it is too dirty.  
4.Devotees are prayng in the Yamuna by standing in the foam taking the risk of exposure to toxic chemicals.
5.People have an opnion that you can get cancer by drinking the unfiltered water of the
Yamuna. 
6.The dirtiest part of the Yamuna is in Wazirabad.
